Lebanon-based ProAbled offers an online platform to integrate persons with special needs into the workforce.

 INDEVCO Human Resource & Organizational Development (HROD) Department and member company Sanita have begun using ProAbled online recruitment platform to screen qualified candidates with disabilities for its workforce in Lebanon. Sanita took part in ProAbled’s national campaign in October to raise awareness about the importance of fair employment. The manufacturer of consumer and institutional disposables maintains a division for persons with special needs at its plant in Zouk Mosbeh.

Sanita has recruited persons with disabilities since 2003. Today, four per cent of the company’s workforce has disabilities, including Down Syndrome, paralysis, amputations, mobility and dexterity impairments, and speech difficulties. Candidate selection is based on competencies required in job descriptions, including physical and mental requirements related to safety and operations in a manufacturing environment. Sanita offers reserved parking, disabled access into buildings and restrooms with safe passageways, floor designations, and appropriate signage.
